The
offset printing process is when ink is transferred to the paper
from a blanket that carries an impression from a metal printing
plate. By using metal plates, Community is often able to save that
plate for your next re-print, which in turn lowers your printing
cost and insures a consistent and accurate product.
In our pressroom
your project comes to life. Our press operators are craftsmen and
understand that color and clarity are critical factors. They possess
the expertise and knowledge that can only be attained through their
years of experience in printing. Meticulous attention is given to
every aspect of the printing process to insure that they achieve
the color and consistency you are looking for and your project deserves.
Varnishing
Techniques:
Depending on
the look you want to achieve, we can do a gloss, matte (dull), spot
or overall (flood) varnish finish on your piece. Remember, a spot
varnish will require an additional plate, and an overall varnish
will protect the piece from scuffing and add luster.
We can also
do a Dry Trap. A Dry Trap is when wet ink or varnish is laid over
a layer of dry ink. This can produce a sharper image and a deeper
color. This is also called a double bump.
